About Us

Tall Timbers Brew House is an exciting new independent brewpub set to open its doors in the heart of Manjimup. Inspired by the rugged beauty of tall timbers and the spirit of craftsmanship, we're all about brewing bold, approachable craft beers paired with hearty, innovative food in a warm, inviting space. Think cozy timber interiors, a buzzing taproom, outdoor beer garden, live music, and a community vibe that makes everyone feel like family. As a fresh player in the craft scene, we're passionate about sustainability, quality, and creating memorable experiences—from our onsite brewery to functions that bring people together. We're ready to launch, and we need a dynamic leader to put the final touches on our venue, infuse it with personality, and make it the go-to spot for locals and visitors alike.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced and visionary Venue Manager to take full ownership of our brewpub operations from day one. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll run the venue, shape its unique identity, and drive its success. You'll collaborate closely with our brewing team to craft standout food and beverage experiences, build relationships with wholesale customers, and be the welcoming face of Tall Timbers. With our opening on the horizon, you'll add those final touches— from curating the atmosphere to executing events like bands, tastings, and functions—to make our space truly one-of-a-kind.

This role balances operational excellence, creative flair, and community engagement, ensuring smooth service, high standards, and growth in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

● Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing front-of-house and bar team, including recruitment, training, rostering, and mentoring.

● Foster a positive, collaborative culture focused on exceptional hospitality, teamwork, and staff growth.

● Coach staff on service standards, product knowledge (beer styles, pours, pairings), upselling, and compliance (RSA, ID checks, safety).

Venue Operations & Setup

● Oversee day-to-day operations across bar, floor, kitchen, and cellar, including opening/closing, cash-ups, reports, and handovers.

● Put the final touches on the venue setup, giving it a unique personality through layout, décor, music, lighting, and overall vibe.

● Manage stock, inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships; conduct counts, line checks, and basic cellar maintenance (beer quality, keg changes, line cleaning).

● Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, food safety, WHS, and incident logging.

Food & Beverage Innovation

● Create and execute unique food and beverage experiences, collaborating with the kitchen for seamless service flow and menu development.

● Support the brewing team in developing and launching new drinks, including venue-exclusive releases, pairings, and specials.

● Oversee beer presentation, glassware, and quality control to deliver world-class pours every time.

Business Development & Community

● Be the face of the business, greeting guests, handling feedback, and building lasting relationships with regulars, locals, and wholesale customers.

● Drive revenue growth through events, activations, promotions, and partnerships (e.g., trivia, live bands, brewery tours, markets, pop-ups).

● Plan and run functions, from setup to execution, liaising with bands, suppliers, and teams for smooth delivery.

About You

● 3+ years in hospitality management (brewery, pub, restaurant, or brewpub preferred), with proven leadership in busy venues.

● Passionate about craft beer, innovative food, and genuine hospitality—beer-nerdy or curious, with knowledge of brewing processes and styles.

● Strong operational skills: POS systems, Excel/Sheets, rosters, stock control, and financial tracking.

● Creative thinker who thrives under pressure, with excellent communication, problem-solving, and people skills.

● Physically able to handle lifting (kegs/cases up to 20kg) and flexible for weekends, evenings, public holidays, and rostered shifts.

● Current RSA certification and Approved Manager (essential); Food Safety Supervisor, First Aid, or similar (preferred or willing to obtain).

● Full working rights in Australia; driver's license a plus for local deliveries or events.

What You'll Get

● Competitive salary package, super, and penalty rates under the Award.

● Staff perks: generous beer/food/merch discounts, brewery training, tastings, and events.

● Growth opportunities in a new, independent business—shape our future as we expand.

● A supportive, fun team in a vibrant community-focused venue with great work-life balance (no extreme late nights).

● The chance to make a real impact: bring your ideas, build something special, and enjoy the rewards of launching a standout brewpub.
