**The Role**
The position leads a small team who 'triage' redress of grievance complaints and provide procedural advice to members and complaint handlers. Triage considerations inform the most appropriate person and/or process by which to consider that specific complaint. We are looking for an emotionally intelligent, resilient and honest person who is capable of dealing sensitively and objectively with very emotional people and situations. You will need a good knowledge of the nature of military service and administrative decision making, and have a highly developed ability to identify and address practical risks in complaint handling.
**About our Team**
The team manages/oversees the Australian Defence Force's handling of 'Redress of grievance' statutory complaints system on behalf of the Inspector-General of the Australian Defence Force. Any Australian Defence Force member may submit a complaint about a decision, act or omission that they consider is adverse or detrimental to them, and the adverse or detrimental effect is capable of being redressed within Defence. The team's focus is on ensuring each complaint is proposed to be dealt with in the most appropriate way to maximise the prospect of timely resolution. The team provides procedural advice to individual members and their commanders, as well as monitoring progress and reporting outcomes and time frames.
