We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiation Oncology Fellow to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their clinical skills and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
About the Role:
The Radiation Oncology Fellow will be responsible for assessing and managing inpatient and outpatient cancer patients who require radiation therapy. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced Radiation Oncologists and other specialists to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Main Responsibilities:
* Day-to-day management of Radiation Oncology outpatients under the direction of Radiation Oncologists
* Assessment and formulation of a management plan for patients presenting for care
* Participation in research activities, including data analysis and publication
* Development of specialty interests based on experience and mentorship
* Observation of leading-edge treatments at GenesisCare sites
* Outreach clinic activities (if required)
* Effective communication and coordination with healthcare professionals
* Regular review of patient progress
* Development and execution of a research project in collaboration with supervisors
* Management of unstable patients and clinical handover during leave periods
* Supervision of students attached to the department
* Maintenance of patient and organisational confidence through adherence to policy and procedure
Requirements:
* MBBS or equivalent, registered or eligible to be registered with the Medical Board of Australia
* Completion of at least 4 years of accredited training in Radiation Oncology or other oncology specialty
* Demonstrated clinical competency appropriate to level
* Working towards completion of relevant College examinations
* Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment
* Excellent teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy for patients and their carers
* Commitment to developing research skills and collaborating with other researchers
