**About the role**
V/Line's Ballarat region is looking for their next Rail Track Labourer to join the team supporting the maintenance (gang) team on night shift with maintenance tasks. Reporting to the Track Ganger, you will work as part of a team performing key tasks such as laying, aligning, repairing & maintaining railway tracks across the region (Ballarat to Caroline Springs, Ararat, Gheringhap & Maryborough). You will have exposure to performing tasks both on passenger and freight lines covering over 300 kilometres of track. Other responsibilities include:
- Replacement and/or renewal of track & crossing materials i.e. sleepers, rail, ballast, and fastenings
- Cleaning of plant equipment & worksite up-keep
- Safe use of hand tools & minor mechanical equipment
**About you**
- Valid Victorian Driver's License
- Must have completed Year 10 or equivalent
- Previous experience in a manual labouring role is advantageous
- The willingness to reliably work permanent night shift - overtime is also on offer
