What's your role?
The Digital Product Owner connects the customer, the business and delivery teams. You will be working with key stakeholders to ensure Bupa is building the best product, and with the delivery team to ensure we are building that product in the right way. You understand customer needs and the business' goals and actively collaborate with the development team and the stakeholders to make fast, local and empowered decisions for the team.
What will your day look like?
1. You will liaise with the Product Managers, business stakeholders, business analysts and technical development teams to deliver complex digital products and services.
2. Define business requirements via epics, features and stories, together with acceptance criteria to deliver the minimum viable product for product launch and successive iteration and horizon mapping.
3. Ensure focus on relevant stories and priority of team backlog and roadmap.
4. Communicate and motivate the delivery team with the product vision communicating the business benefits of the product / features.
5. Create, prioritise, and maintain the team backlog, defining release and sprint goals and answering questions to add detail to user stories.
6. Collaborate with user experience, visual designers, and agency partners, to define and create engaging and delightful customer experiences.
7. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand business drivers, considerations, and necessary approvals.
8. Work closely with data and analytics to capture customer behaviours and help inform decisions and product development.
9. Contribute to ongoing product iteration, including management of small changes, bug fixes and optimisations, together with larger roadmap initiatives.
10. Take a positive stance, with a can-do attitude, you have a proven ability to influence and take people with you on the journey to success.
What will you bring?
11. Proven experience as a Digital Product Owner with a solid understanding of best practice and innovative customer experience, customer engagement and product development.
12. Experience working in an Agile delivery environment as a Product Owner including an understanding of incremental delivery of value.
13. An organised and planned approach - you can prioritise effectively to maintain a manageable workload for teams.
14. Ownership and accountability - you have a strong ability to resolve complex problems, working through situations and opportunities.
15. Excellent client relationship / stakeholder management skills with strong ability to extract / elicit requirements / problems in customer experiences.
16. Good understanding of varying methods for capturing and documenting requirements / user stories.
17. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, being articulate and concise.
18. An analytical focus with an appreciation of data analysis, commercial drivers, business viability and technical feasibility.
19. Demonstrable ability to deal with ambiguity and learn on the fly.
20. Proven capability to deliver outcomes and move forward with unproven ideas.
21. Strong business acumen, you understand the bigger picture and can communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
