The Role

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is "exceptional care, healthier lives". SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.

This position processes all general public and patient enquiries both in person and via telephone for the Prince of Wales Hospital. Enquiries are addressed with a customer focus and in accordance with the service policies. Enquiries regarding the Prince of Wales Private Hospital, the Royal Hospital for Women and Sydney Children's Hospital are redirected to the respective receptions counter.

Key responsibilities include:

* Directing patients and visitors around the hospital
* Arranging escorts or porter transfers
* Paging staff members
* Transmitting facsimiles
* Re-addressing mail
* Issuing wheelchairs when necessary
* Assisting patients and customers order taxis
* Managing multiple enquiries while prioritising urgent requests and ensuring timely service
* Ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of information in a fast‐paced environment
Where You'll be Working

Prince of Wales Hospital is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year the hospital cares for more than 70,000 patients in its Emergency Department and around 50,000 admissions to inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service, rural outreach service and more than 900,000 occasions of non‐admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. The majority of inpatient units and wards are located in the Acute Services Building (ASB), including a state‐of‐the‐art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.

Randwick Local Council provides a vibrant community with beaches, historic buildings, boutique restaurants, transport links and a lively nightlife.
