Position Information

The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.

About the Role

A School Administrative Officer provides administrative, financial and student welfare/wellbeing support and assistance in relation to office and classroom activities, including but not limited to the following school settings: the office, sick bay, library, science laboratory, and food technology/kitchen areas.

If you are a proactive administrator who enjoys supporting teams in a dynamic environment, this is a great opportunity to join our school. You will play a key role in ensuring accuracy of records while supporting the daily operations of the school.

Essential Requirements

* Working with Children Check Clearance
* First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training.
* Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs.

Monaro High School provides state of the art facilities together with dedicated professionals that are committed to the betterment of every student. This is complimented by the comprehensive range of subjects, offered throughout all stages as well as a highly success Vocational Education & Training program for senior years. The school features six supported education classes, designed to deliver personalised learning and enhanced support for students with diverse needs.

Our school is located in the Snowy Mountains with current enrolments of 380 students from Year 7-Year 12. Our close proximity to Canberra, the Kosciuszko National Park and the South Coast provides a varied and distinct backdrop for learning and leisure.

The ideal applicant will be able to:

* manage multiple administrative tasks
* demonstrate excellent customer service skills
* adapt and prioritise stakeholder needs
* maintain integrity of records
* ensure compliance with agency policy and procedures


Specific Selection Criteria

* Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
* Administration skills including a knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work with teachers and students.
* Ability to perform tasks in one or more of the following areas: office procedures; accounting procedures; sick bay; hospitality and /or design and technology; science.
