You will work as a Local Public Sector member as a Systems Accountant. You will be working alongside the budget and systems team.
Your new role
In this temporary assignment you will:
* Lead the implementation and configuration of financial system upgrades to improve functionality and innovation
* Develop and maintain operational documentation, policies, and governance frameworks (e.g., chart of accounts, delegation matrices)
* Resolve complex system and reconciliation issues through analysis and stakeholder collaboration; provide expert support to end users
* Manage system processes including external interfaces and financial close activities to ensure data accuracy and informed decision-making
* Design and maintain internal controls, user permissions, and posting processes to ensure compliance with audit, IT policies, and business needs
* Investigate and implement system and process improvements aligned with business requirements through analysis and stakeholder engagement
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this temporary assignment, you will have:
* Extensive experience managing and administering financial systems, especially Technology One Financials.
* Proven ability to deliver high-level support to finance teams and broader business units.
* Strong leadership in project delivery, with a focus on customer service and maintaining data integrity across integrated systems.
* Skilled in analysing data and business needs to identify improvements and develop future system and process models.
* Demonstrated experience in implementing systems, ensuring governance, and maintaining internal controls.
* Ability to effectively liaise with clients and manage relationships with software vendors, external service providers and industry peers
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to present complex financial information to general audiences
* Completion or progression towards a degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
