WHAT WE NEED?
We are seeking an experienced Chief Steward to join our team at a sports stadium in Sydney. Your primary focus will be to manage the day to day operations of the stewarding department, as well as drive a high performing team through solid delegation, coaching and leadership capabilities.
WHAT YOU'LL DO?
- Effectively supervise kitchen stewards during rostered shifts.
- Manage and coordinate the stewarding team during banquets and functions.
- Undertake deep cleaning of kitchens and ensuring all checklists and tasks are completed to the highest standards.
- Completion of rosters in line with modern award and work right restrictions.
- Train team members ensuring they maintain a professional manner and up to date with hotel events and the requirements of the kitchen.
- Manage and maintain a clean and tidy working environment for all hotel outlet kitchens ensuring all kitchen stewards are adhering to policies and procedures.
- Ensure hygiene and WHS requirements are adhered to in line with correct processes.
- Work safely with chemicals to assist with the cleaning process.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED?
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a kitchen environment or stewarding department highly desirable.
- Proven success in leading and developing a high performing team.
- Strong understanding of Commercial Kitchen Equipment, Chemical Handling, Food Safety, HACCP and WHS requirements.
- Good presentation, communication skills and a fluency in English.
- Ability to work within a team in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
