Our client—a leading food manufacturer based in Bendigo— is looking for 2 experienced Maintenance Fitters to join their team.
Shift Information
* Sunday to Friday: starting at 11 pm on Sunday and ending at 7:30 am on Friday.
* A month of 7 days on / 7 days off: start time 6 am to 6 pm for a month, then rotates to night shift for a month, 6 pm to 6 am.
Salary
* Annualised $50–51 per hour paid bi‐weekly, including penalties and loading.
* Earn up to $150 k with overtime.
* Meal breaks paid.
* Tools paid.
* 5 weeks annual leave.
Primary Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Maintenance Fitters include disassembling and assembling pumps, diagnosing and resolving issues with pneumatics and hydraulics, and servicing and overhauling gearboxes. The role involves working with a variety of equipment, including Multivac, Mondini, and Dematic systems, as well as robots and Bosch vacuum pumps.

Key Qualifications and Skills
Candidates should possess strong mechanical skills and ideally have a background in food manufacturing, FMCG. The ability to think ahead and outside the box is crucial due to the high‐pressure environment of food processing. Machining skills would be advantageous. While welding skills are a plus, they are not essential. It is important for candidates to have experience with the disassembly, reassembly, and servicing of gearboxes, as well as diagnosing pneumatic and hydraulic systems. We are open to considering heavy vehicle or HD fitters, provided they have the core mechanical skills required.
Top Priorities in the First Six Months
In the first six months, the priorities for the fitters will be mastering the disassembly and assembly of pumps, diagnosing and resolving issues with pneumatics and hydraulics, and effectively servicing and overhauling gearboxes. Success in these areas will be critical to minimizing downtime and maintaining production efficiency.
