Position Purpose
The National Festival Manager is responsible for the national coordination, logistics, marketing and communications, sponsor activations, and special events of the Alliance Française French Film Festival (AFFFF). The role ensures the smooth delivery of the Festival across all participating cities in Australia, working closely with the CEO, the Palace Cinemas national team, Alliance Françaises, sponsors, partners, suppliers, and contractors. The National Festival Manager also leads the recruitment and supervision of the national team and delivers comprehensive reporting on festival outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. National Coordination
* Serve as a central point of contact between AFFFF Ltd, Palace Cinemas, and the six Alliance Françaises in capital cities (plus other participating Alliances).
* Coordinate scheduling, programming logistics, and ticketing arrangements for all cities.
* Collect and consolidate local information (advertisements, logos, texts, ticketing conditions, quantities, delivery addresses).
* Organise weekly coordination meetings, follow up on outstanding issues, and maintain updated planning tools.
2. Sponsorship & Partnerships
* Liaise with national sponsors on logistics, advertising materials, and activations.
* Coordinate delivery of sponsor benefits: logos, cinema ads, printed assets, banners, tickets, and Opening Night activations.
* Track sponsor commitments and ensure contractual deliverables are met.
* Gather data and results for end-of-festival reports and prepare sponsor impact summaries (including digital and media statistics).
3. Marketing, Communications & PR
* Support coordination of national marketing campaigns (street, online, TV, cross-promotions).
* Brief and manage designers for national and city-specific creative assets (programmes, posters, invitations, tickets, ads).
* Supervise the production and proofreading of all marketing materials.
* Oversee website updates, newsletters, social media campaigns (in coordination with the marketing coordinator).
* Organise competitions, giveaways, and promotional partnerships.
* Liaise with publicists.
4. Film Materials & Scheduling
* Collect all required materials from distributors (images, trailers, synopses, classifications, technical info).
* Coordinate screening schedules nationally with Palace Cinemas and other exhibiting partners.
* Ensure delivery of DCPs and KDMs to cinemas (in coordination with the film logistics coordinator).
5. Special Events & Private Screenings
* Coordinate special events and private screenings in every participating city, including communication assets, logistics, and post-event reporting.
6. Reporting & Budget Tracking
* Track national box office data and prepare daily/weekly reports for management.
* Compare results to previous years and highlight trends.
* Assist in budget preparation and track festival-related expenses and invoices.
* Deliver the annual festival report and individual sponsors' reports, including statistics, visuals, and media outcomes.
7. Team Leadership
* Recruit, supervise, and coordinate the national team, including employees and freelancers: marketing coordinator, logistics coordinator, graphic designer, film delivery personnel, and proofreaders.

* Knowledge of the Australian cultural sector and/or film industry (desirable).
