About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Permanent Modular Construction (PMC) to join our expanding team based in Rocklea, QLD. This position is central to the planning, coordination, and execution of permanent modular building projects across Queensland.
You'll oversee all aspects of site works—ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the high standard ATCO and our clients expect. You will work closely with project coordinators, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to lead building installations, manage project cost controls, and support fleet management and retrofitting activities.
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong communication, problem-solving, and a proactive approach to managing competing priorities and schedules.
What You'll Do
Oversee and coordinate trades, contractors, and staff to ensure quality and efficient project delivery
Manage on-site installation, retrofitting, and service works
Maintain accurate and complete project documentation, QA records, HSE compliance, and certifications
Support modular building fleet management and ensure long-term asset performance
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and contract administrators to manage schedules, invoicing, and project variations
Deliver weekly updates to the PMC team on progress and outstanding issues
Conduct project kick-off meetings and maintain strong client relationships throughout
Resolve operational issues promptly or escalate as needed
Maintain control over site materials, storage, and inventory
What You'll Bring
Certificate IV in Building & Construction (or working towards it)
Strong knowledge of construction processes and industry standards
Demonstrated leadership and ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams
Excellent communication skills with a focus on relationship building
Attention to detail and solid reporting/documentation practices
Strong time management and the ability to adapt in fast-paced environments
White Card (Construction Induction)
Previous experience in a similar construction or modular delivery role (highly desirable)
