The EEN is part of the community care team and utilises the practise of nursing to provide patient care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Practice is in accordance with:
Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) National Competency Standard for Enrolled Nurses
NMBA Code of Ethics for Nurses in Australia and AWH Code of Conduct
Nurses and Midwifery board of Australia: A nurses guide to professional boundaries
ANMC: Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses in Australia
- Such care can be provided in any practice settings
Retains responsibility for own actions at all times and remain accountable to the supervising RN for the respective delegated activities and actions
MANDATORY:
- Eligibility to practice as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, i.e.: Current Registration with AHPRA.
- Confirmed recent nursing practice
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to practice within a patient centred care environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to improving performance and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage clinical activities as an EN.
- Catheter care
- Medication managemnt
A current National Police Check shall be provided prior to appointment.
