We are seeking to engage and experienced Engineering Team Leader who will hold a pivotal managerial position, overseeing a group of professional engineers and additional staff members. This role involves management of a team engaged in a range of complex engineering activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, systems engineering, liaison with manufacturing, configuration control, systems assurance, materials compliance, and the management of engineering change processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Planning and Decision-Making: The Engineering Team Leader is responsible for initiating and participating in both short-term and long-term planning efforts. They make independent decisions regarding engineering policies and procedures within the framework of a broader program.
* Technical Advisory: They provide expert technical advice to both management and operational departments, ensuring that all engineering activities align with organisational objectives and industry best practices.
* Program Coordination: The leader coordinates work programs, directing or advising on the optimal use of equipment and materials to achieve set objectives efficiently.
* The role also encompasses the development of integration plans for rolling stock and the assurance of new systems and operating methodologies, ensuring seamless adoption and compliance across all engineering operations.
Education & qualifications:
* Degree qualified in a relevant engineering field
* 10 years' relevant engineering experience
* Extensive project delivery experience
* Excellent people management experience and organisational skills
* Be Registered or working towards becoming Registered on the National Engineering Register and membership of a relevant professional institution, such as Engineers Australia.
