Job Description
The Field Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the activities of field service personnel, ensuring customer satisfaction and service commitments are delivered in a professional manner. The role involves managing site commissioning, coordinating customer requirements with field staff availability, providing business development support to grow contract business, and ensuring field personnel have necessary tools and documentation.
The Field Operations Manager will dispatch calls and schedule tasks for all field personnel, respond to customer requests for quotations or service advice within a timely manner, assist field personnel with technical difficulties, and support field personnel with administrative tasks such as paperwork.
The role also involves monitoring OH&S requirements adherence, promoting Vertiv's Service capability to gain additional business, seeking out new business through direct representation to prospective customers, conducting site inspections and ad-hoc checks to ensure Customer Engineers meet company expectations, recommending training for field staff on technical or customer service skills, and managing field staff efficiently, ensuring legal obligations and humane considerations are met.
The Field Operations Manager will conduct cyclic counts to verify correct van stock and warehouse levels, report project status to management when necessary, and ensure field service presentation meets company standards. They will complete timesheets accurately and submit them by due date, and liaise with Technical Support Group to assist field personnel with technical issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A strong background in electrical/electronics trade, with relevant state-based electrical license.
* Proven track record within the power industry as a service technician.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Education/Qualification: Electrical/Electronics Trade Certificate (ideally). Relevant State-based Electrical Licence.
Specialist Knowledge: Commercial acumen. Technical knowledge in data centres, telecom, commercial & industrial industries.
Practical Experience: Proven track record within the power industry as a service technician. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
