A rare FIFO Electrical Supervisor position on a 2:1 roster exists to play a key part in the Artesian Bore Upgrade Project located at the Rio Tinto Weipa Amrun site in theCape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, Australia. This project swing will run through from October/ November 2025 for 3 months with potential for ongoing work.
The rundown:
Roster: 2:1 to commence late October/early November
Shifts: 12 hours
Accommodation: Camp accommodation provided.
Point of Hire: Must be Brisbane or Cairns based. Candidates living on the Gold Coast or outer areas of Brisbane or Cairns may consider applying - note you will need to travel to BNE or CNS Airport at your own cost.
Flights: Client provided flights from Brisbane or Cairns only provided.
Onboarding: You will be required to undergo a pre-employment Medical including a Mineral, Mines and Quarries Respiratory Health Surveillance (MMQ), G1 Certificate training required, Rio Tinto Inductions required to be completed.
Must have: G8 and G9 certificate or equivalent S1, S2, S3 certification
Advantageous: Rio Tinto Arch Flash training certificate.
ABOUT YOU:
You are trade qualified with a valid Electrical License recognised in Australia and extensive experience supervising teams in a mining and/or heavy construction environment. You will also have:
* Experience supervising project teams
* Experience supervising in the shutdown environment
* Experience in FIFO work
* Exposure to HV terminations and cable installation
* Electrical Quality assurance
* Managing sub-contractors
* Unrestricted rights to work in Australia
* Drivers license
Qualifications required:
* Australian recognised Electrical Workers License
* Construction Induction Card (Mandatory)
* LV/CPR Certificate (Mandatory)
* QLD Coal Board or Mineral Mines Medicals (Advantage)
* Rio Tinto Inducted (Advantage)
* Willing to undergo Pre-employment checks and Medicals
