About this Role
The Specialist Indigenous Support works alongside Leaders to improve the experience of Indigenous‐identified employees in BMA, and contributes to enhanced cultural safety and wellbeing across the workplace.
In this role, you will:
* Serve as a key point of contact for Indigenous employees, providing personalised support and advice to improve employee experience.
* Advocate for Indigenous perspectives and cultural capability.
* Champion the application of the BHP Indigenous Cultural Safety Framework (ICSF) and support other Indigenous employee‐focused initiatives aligned with the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and broader cultural safety and wellbeing.
* Work alongside leaders and employees on Indigenous social, cultural and recognition matters for site‐level activities.
* When Indigenous employee and/or site needs intersect with local communities, partner with Indigenous Engagement to facilitate any necessary engagement with Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs), Traditional Owner corporations and local communities.
Schedule and Locations
The role will be offered on a 7 days on / 7 days off roster. It will be based across Goonyella Mine and Broadmeadow Mine and can be offered DIDO or Residential from the regional area or as FIFO from Brisbane.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders, including diverse cultures and/or Indigenous peoples.
* Understanding of and experience in the mining sector and BHP's operating environment is recommended but not mandatory.
* Relevant vocational, TAFE or university qualifications (e.g., HR/ER, healthcare, community development) are recommended but not mandatory.
* Previous experience in a similar role in case management, advocacy, community development or human services is recommended but not mandatory.
