We’re excited about the amazing things energy can do.We’re determined to drive positive change; our purpose is to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation for all.About the roleReporting to the EnvironmentLeader and forming part of a small on-site Environment team, the Senior EnvironmentOfficer will play a lead role in relation to environmental projects and ongoing operational environmental compliance.This is a permanent fulltime position located onsite at Mt Piper Power Station, just west of the Blue Mountains and Lithgow, NSW.We have flexible working options available such as a condensed week and hybrid working locations.More specifically, the Mount Piper Power Station Senior Environment Officer is to undertake the following activities:Manage environmental investigations and complianceAnalyse, interpret and manage environmental monitoring data, providing meaningful environmental advice to internal stakeholdersSupport the implementation of the Environmental Management System to ISO14001 standardEngage with regulatory authorities and other stakeholdersAssist in the day to day management of environmental compliance with relevant licences and approvalsUndertake internal audits and inspectionsPrepare compliance reports and presentationsCoordinate Modifications to approvals and variations to existing licencesContractor management.What we’re looking forTertiary qualifications at minimum Degree Level in Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related disciplinePrevious experience in a Power Station, mining, consulting or similar environment/ heavy industrial settingExperience in environmental monitoring and water management in a heavy industry setting including organisational representation to regulators, local governments and community groupsAbility to build relationships with stakeholders, such as residents, government officials, regulatory and licencing authoritiesExperience writing capability, preparing environmental impact assessments and environmental management plans etcExtensive knowledge of the regulatory framework applying to environmental and water management and development approvals.How to applyIf you’re ready to join us‘doing - not just dreaming’towards a sustainable, reliable, and affordable energy future for all, click the 'Apply’ button before Sunday 29th June at 11.55pm.For any questions or to obtain a copy of the PD email adam.decaria@energyaustralia.com.auEnergyAustralia is committed to providing an inclusive culture so our employees can bring their whole selves to work and have a sense of belonging.
