Fixed Plant Mechanical Technician
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimising the performance of fixed plant assets.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance on all fixed plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
* Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and components, with a strong focus on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns, resolving issues efficiently and safely.
* Conduct thorough inspections across online plant areas, including conveyors, train unloaders, sample stations, and balance machines.
* Raise notifications and initiate work requests for identified defects, ensuring timely resolution and minimisation of downtime.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment reliability programs, driving excellence in maintenance practices.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant Mechanical or Engineering Trade Qualification, with a strong foundation in hydraulics and mechanical principles.
* Demonstrated experience in fixed plant maintenance, preferably within a mining or heavy industrial environment.
* Strong understanding of conveyor systems and large-scale bulk material handling equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
* Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Project or similar maintenance systems, with experience in developing and implementing effective maintenance strategies.
* Skilled in developing risk assessments, JHAs, SWMS, and other safety documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Strong communication and organisational skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
* A proactive approach to safety, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to company policies and procedures.
