Workforce Planner
, on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in
Canberra, ACT
. The contract is for an
initial 12 month period, with a 6 month extension option
.

The Workforce Planner will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
* Collate and analyse approved workforce growth initiatives, uplift programs, and recruitment decisions relevant to the OCR implementation timeframe.
* Conduct workforce analysis to identify current capabilities, gaps, and alignment with Land C4 modernisation requirements.
* Map current and future workforce needs to capability outcomes identified in the Employment Category Review (ECR).
* Develop workforce demand forecasts using Defence-endorsed modelling and planning tools.
* Assess the feasibility and sustainability of workforce models underpinning proposed organisational structures.
* Support the development of preliminary workforce planning inputs for the OCR, including data, forecasts, and structural implications.
* Contribute to the design and potential development of a Workforce Realisation Plan to guide implementation of OCR outcomes.
* Collaborate with the Organisational Design Specialist and Workforce Analyst to ensure data coherence and alignment with proposed structures.
* Engage with stakeholders across Army, Military Workforce Design Division, Defence People Group, and Capability Managers to validate assumptions and integrate planning insights.
* Engage with relevant stakeholders, identifying any gaps, risks, or issues.
* Be prepared to provide specialist advice to working groups and Stakeholders.
* Manage obstacles that will impede the deliverables being successfully executed.
* Successfully collaborate with ADF and APS staff and Defence contractors.
Minimum mandatory requirements:
* AGSVA Security clearance.
* Defence experience.
* Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, analytics, or strategic HR in complex environments.
* Familiarity with Defence workforce structures, systems, and planning frameworks.
* Strong analytical and forecasting skills with the ability to synthesise data into actionable workforce insights.
* Experience supporting or preparing for large-scale workforce transformation or capability reviews.
* Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams and engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
