Vestas have an exciting position at Ryans Corner and Hawkesdale Wind Farm for a full-time and long-term electrical service technician.
1. 38-hour weeks with potential for overtime
2. Entry level rate: $52.50 per hour + Allowances + Superannuation + Bonus
3. All training, uniform, tools, and devices provided
About the Role
This role is for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic electrical technician to work in our service team. The successful applicant must hold a recognised Australian trade certificate. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about renewable energy and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and performance.
The department is a small team environment based on site at Ryans Corner and Hawkesdale Wind Farm. The technicians report to the site supervisor and are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the wind turbines in accordance with the contract. Support is provided by an administrator and a planner with KPIs given by the Area Service Manager.
Responsibilities
4. Undertake scheduled service and reactive maintenance on as required basis
5. Respond and attend site outside normal working hours to undertake reactive maintenance on a rostered basis
6. Maintain all company vehicles and plant and equipment in good clean condition
7. Undertake operations and maintenance within the limits of training and authorisation including operation of HV and LV
8. Ensuring that each task is undertaken in a manner that ensures the safety of personnel, protects the environment and work methods are followed at all times
9. Undertake the site induction
10. Undertake the requirements of the SMA (Service Maintenance Agreement)
11. Complying with the duty of care assigned under OH&S legislation and demonstrate commitment to accident prevention
12. Observing all work instructions, procedures, safety codes of practice, employer OH&S and Environmental requirements and statutory rules and regulations
13. Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required
14. Participate in safety, toolbox or other meetings where required
15. All other duties within competence, skill, qualifications and experience as directed
Qualifications
16. Australian Electrical license
17. Australian Drivers license
Competencies
18. Literate with PC & modern technologies to support your day-to-day work
19. Ability to read/interpret technical drawings to support fault-finding and/or maintenance activities
20. Any knowledge of PLC and/or SCADA systems
21. Motivation to learn new skills and thrive in a growing industry
22. Understanding of safety principles, willing to adhere to and drive safety compliance company-wide
23. Experience with HV/LV, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in a residential, commercial, and/or industrial environment
24. Proficient in the use of various hand tools
25. Strong communication skills, ability to work in a small team
26. Ability to work at heights in confined environments
