Youth Worker – Waking Night (Accommodation Services)
Part time: 27 hours per week (Permanent)
Working Monday - Wednesday (Overnight)
Help support young people aged 15–19 experiencing homelessness.
We are seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join our 24/7 Supported Accommodation program supporting 6 young people experiencing homelessness and complex needs in Merriwa. This is a permanent position managing a caseload of six young people residing in supported accommodation.
Our service opened last year and is operating under new leadership, bringing strengthened governance, clearer practice direction, and a renewed focus on quality, safety and consistency. This is an opportunity to support a program at an important stage of growth and contribute to embedding strong, trauma-informed practice.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Waking Night Youth Worker to join our 24/7 supported accommodation service supporting young people. In this role, you will provide overnight supervision, emotional support, and a safe, calm environment to ensure the wellbeing of residents. You will monitor risk, respond to incidents, and maintain a secure house while promoting stability and reassurance throughout the night. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a trauma-informed, person-centred environment and is committed to supporting young people during their overnight stay.
About You
* You have experience in youth homelessness or crisis accommodation
* Demonstrate trauma-informed and person-centred practice
* Are confident managing complexity, risk and safeguarding concerns
* Maintain strong professional boundaries
* Have excellent documentation and organisational skills
* Can work autonomously while contributing positively to team-based practice
* Are committed to ethical practice and continuous improvement
Essential Requirements
* Qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or a related field (or significant equivalent experience)
* Current Working With Children Check
* National Police Clearance
* Current WA Driver's Licence
