Quartermaster – Cadet Unit & Outdoor Activities Program
The Armidale School (TAS)
Join one of regional NSW's leading independent schools in a key operational role. The Armidale School (TAS) is a co-educational Anglican boarding and day school (Transition–Year 12) with approximately 670 students, including more than 220 boarders. Proud of our history, traditions and membership of the GPS, TAS is also progressive in outlook, offering a holistic education that builds character, resilience, leadership and initiative. We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Quartermaster to support our Army Cadet Unit and Outdoor Activities Program, ensuring the highest standards of operational readiness, compliance and logistical efficiency.
Reporting to the Officer Commanding Cadets (and ultimately the Principal), the Quartermaster plays a critical role in the effective management of stores, uniforms, equipment and logistics. You will maintain accurate inventory systems, oversee uniform issue and returns, coordinate stocktakes and audits, and ensure all equipment meets Australian Army Cadets (AAC), WHS and School compliance standards. Acting as a critical advisor to the Commanding Officer and Director of Co-Curricular, you will proactively manage serviceability, procurement and supply chain processes while liaising professionally with AAC personnel, Defence representatives and external suppliers.
This hands-on role also supports field exercises and cadet promotion courses, coordinating transport, rations, sanitation, waste services and detailed equipment lists to ensure seamless program delivery. You will supervise cadets on maintenance and preparation tasks as required, support military skills activities as designated, and ensure all equipment is transported, distributed, and accounted for during exercises. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, work autonomously and maintain rigorous documentation will be central to your success.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organisational skills, meticulous record-keeping, sound judgement and a commitment to child safety and duty of care. Experience in logistics, stores, or inventory management is highly desirable, as is military or Australian Army Cadets experience.
A Working with Children Check clearance is required prior to commencement. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Independent Schools NSW (Professional and Operational Staff Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement) 2025, Level 4.1 Instructional Services Employees.
If you are committed to excellence and service within an educational environment, we encourage you to apply.
Please submit your application, including a cover letter, CV and contact details for referees, via SEEK.
Applications close Sunday, 16 March at 5pm
