About us
The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
What we do is integral to the Government's decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer's money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.
We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.
We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.
The work area
This role sits within the Revenue and Intergovernmental Relations Directorate which is part of the Economic business unit. The team provides analysis and advice on State taxes, mineral royalties and Commonwealth-State relations. The area also provides forecasting and monitoring of GST revenue and advice on GST distribution.
The opportunity
Are you passionate about developing and providing advice on policy issues? We are looking for a motivated individual to join us and make a difference for Western Australia. In this role, you will:
* Develop, coordinate and deliver high quality advice on State taxation and mineral royalties to inform government decision making.
* Use and develop new models for analysing and estimating the financial impact of changes to policy.
* Distil economic and policy analysis into written advice that is compelling and fit for the target audience.
We currently have one (1) permanent full-time or part-time position available for filling within the Revenue Policy team.
To be eligible for permanent appointment you must have permanent residency status in Australia.
