An established beverage manufacturing company in Penrith NSW 2750 is looking for an experienced Food Chemist / Food Technologist / Quality Assurance Quality Control Officer.
Candidate must have completed a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Food Technology and with competent English communication skills.
We require a minimum of 1 year hands on experience in Quality Assurance and Food Safety preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develops quality control procedures and safety standards for the manufacture of food and beverage products
· Technical competency in leading a Sensory Evaluation program (flavour, colour, taste, texture and nutritional content) and hands on experience in GMP and HACCP audits;
· Conducts tests to identify the chemical composition and reactive properties of natural substances on finished products
· Develops and adapts laboratory testing procedures to achieve the best results and come up with action plans and/or preventive measures to prevent recurrence of any deviation from standards.
· Able to deliver best practice quality & food safety compliance of HACCP
standards and drive continuous improvement of the site 'foreign body' removal
system.
· Report audit results and implement new/existing activities to critically analyse
and improve quality/safety gaps for entire site;
· Responsible for ongoing management, evaluation, and improvement related to all aspects of the Food Safety program to ensure their effective implementation and maintenance;
· Perform daily monitoring activities on food safety programs including:
Verification, Validation, Audit, and Recordkeeping to ensure facility's continuous compliance on processing, packaging, storing and delivery of food and beverage products
· Active participation in food safety and other regulatory audits;
· Maintains log of required corrective actions for audits non-conformances and
ensures closure of these issues;
· Major participation in the acquisition of new plant and equipment to ensure
compliance to food safety.
A candidate who has technical competency in bottled water manufacturing, from receival, through raw material storage, manufacture, filling, labelling, product storage and dispatch is highly regarded.
