The Opportunity
Due to sustained growth and a strong forward pipeline of work, Shadforth is seeking Estimators and a Senior Estimator to join our Pre‐Contracts Team. Based on the Sunshine Coast, you will play a key role in preparing competitive tenders across civil infrastructure, subdivisions, bulk earthworks and roadworks projects across Queensland and Northern NSW. This is a full‐time, permanent opportunity offering the chance to continue working on large, complex civil projects while enjoying a lifestyle many professionals relocate for.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the pricing and preparation of detailed civil tenders
* Review drawings, scope documents and contracts to develop competitive pricing
* Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions
* Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure constructability and methodology alignment
* Engage with subcontractors and suppliers during tender preparation
* Mentor junior estimators and contribute to improving estimating systems
About You
We are seeking confident and commercially minded civil professionals who can take ownership of estimates and drive outcomes.
You May Currently Be Working As a
* Senior Estimator
* Estimator
* Project Engineer looking to transition into estimating
* Project Manager with strong pre‐contracts exposure
Ideally You Will Bring
* Experience pricing civil projects such as subdivisions, bulk earthworks, roadworks or infrastructure
* Strong ability to interpret drawings and develop estimates from first principles
* Experience using estimating or take‐off software (Benchmark, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project or similar)
* Strong stakeholder communication skills
* A proactive mindset with the ability to identify cost saving or alternative methodologies
* Experience mentoring junior team members will be highly regarded
