**Key Objectives**
To carry out the professional duties of a teacher in accordance with the school's policies, under the direction of the Principal.
- Ability to engage and motivate students.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of the Western Australian curriculum, together with a contemporary approach to teaching, learning and assessment.
- Willingness to embrace the ethos of the school, especially respect for the individual, while delivering an innovative and academically-challenging education.
- Bachelor of Education (Secondary) qualification; or relevant Bachelor qualification, together with a Graduate Diploma of Education in Secondary Teaching - preferred majors in Science or Mathematics or Psychology.
- Current TRBWA registration (or ability to gain registration prior to commencement of employment).
- Current working with children card
- Experience in child-centered education and inquiry-based learning.
- Experience in teaching in years 7 and 8 - and/or years 11 and 12.
- Experience in multi-age grouping.
- Ability to create and manage a differentiated curriculum.
- Open to learning new skills and techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively and energetically within a highly differentiated student-centred school culture.

**Specific Duties of this Role**
- Ensure the successful implementation of a differentiated curriculum in multi-age group classes.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Treetops by regularly attending staff meetings.
- Work collaboratively with other teaching staff.
- Ensure that assessments and student records are kept up to date.
- Ensure that Curriculum requirements are being met and that outcomes are clearly documented.
- Use the Western Australian Curriculum in planning.
- Maintain ongoing records of student progress.
- Document all parent/teacher interviews.
- Regularly report to parents, in accordance with school guidelines.
- Attend Professional Development sessions.
- Work with School Leadership to support the school's guiding statements/philosophy.
- Work with a small team of Secondary teachers to ensure a vibrant, positive culture of learning.
- Effectively communicate relevant aspects of programs with members of the Treetops community.
- Comply with contemporary WHS work practices.
- Willingness to perform extra-curricular tasks e.g. camps, sport, concerts, excursions and special programs.
