Senior Payroll Officer
We're now looking for a Senior Payroll Officer to join our team on a 12‐month fixed term contract basis. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring our people are paid accurately, on time, every time! You will thrive in complexity, value precision, and be committed to delivering an exceptional employee experience.
What You'll Do
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you'll take ownership of end‐to‐end payroll operations while acting as a trusted expert across the business.
* Deliver accurate and timely payroll processing (weekly, fortnightly, monthly cycles)
* Resolve complex payroll queries and conduct root cause analysis
* Manage terminations, redundancies, bonuses, commissions and adjustments
* Ensure compliance with PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, and employment legislation
* Maintain and improve payroll systems (SAP ECP, SuccessFactors, WFS)
* Lead payroll reconciliations, reporting, month‐end and statutory obligations (ATO, ABS, Super)
* Partner with HR, Finance, and key stakeholders to deliver seamless outcomes
* Contribute to process improvements, SOP development, and team capability uplift
What You'll Bring
* Proven payroll experience in a complex, high‐volume environment
* Strong expertise in SAP ECP and large HRIS platforms (SuccessFactors preferred)
* Deep knowledge of Australian payroll legislation (PAYG, Super, FBT, Workers Comp, NES)
* High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* A proactive, solutions‐focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
