We are seeking to employ a suitably qualified Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics with experience in medical nutrition therapy. Post-graduation hospital or clinic experience is required. The successful candidate will be an accomplished educator with a passion for and evidence of excellence in teaching, inclusive of experiential learning and research, and will have completed a PhD and hold the Accredited Practising Dietitian credential.
Your key responsibilities
* undertake independent teaching and apply research or scholarly activity to enhance educational practices and outcomes, specifically teaching postgraduate students in nutrition and dietetics and medical nutrition therapy
* conduct original research independently or as part of a team, focusing on publication, conferences, and securing research funding
* deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences, including lectures, seminars, tutorials online and in person
* develop innovative teaching approaches and evaluate teaching and learning effectiveness for continuous improvement
* carry out governance tasks and contribute to faculty/school meetings
* contribute to a positive workplace culture valuing diversity, collaboration, and excellence
* understand and contribute to the university and faculty/school strategic agenda
* build professional profile through conferences, seminars, and outreach
* engage in translational research and establish collaborations for research, development, commercialization, and policy improvement
* provide leadership with impact on teaching, curriculum development, research training, and supervision
* coordinate activities of academic staff and provide training and mentorship
* establish partnerships and collaborations for impactful research outcomes
About you
* PhD in Nutrition and Dietetics
* Accredited Practising Dietitian with Dietitians Australia
* two or more years of experience in medical nutrition therapy in a teaching hospital
* proven experience in original research and scholarly activity with a developing research profile
* experience teaching and learning within an established program in nutrition and/or dietetics and in diverse settings related to medical nutrition therapy
* experience designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives
* developing network of academic, industry and professional partners
* strong communication skills for presentations and stakeholder engagement
* nationally recognized potential in expanding knowledge, pedagogy or curriculum innovation
