Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the following:
* Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
* Oversee month‐end and year‐end close processes.
* Manage tax reporting and compliance requirements.
* Indirectly manage a small team
* Analyse financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
* Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.
* Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
* Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Accountant should have:
* Excellent communication skills
* A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA or CA.
* Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
* Big‐4 or Mid‐tier audit or business services experience preferred
* Proven expertise in financial reporting
* Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem‐solving abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
