Manager credit risk analytics

As our highly valued Manager, Credit Risk Analytics based in Brisbane you will bring your strong analytical skills to support the Senior Manager, Credit Strategy, to execute the credit risk optimisation strategy for Great Southern Bank.

Working with key partners and internal stakeholders, you will pro-actively manage critical quantitative models and tools used in the origination and management of the bank's retail lending products (Home Loans, Credit Cards and Personal Loans) in a way that balances growth, customer experience and credit risk.


You'll make an impact by:

Leadership

•You are accountable in supporting the development of a credit risk strategy that supports the bank's strategic objectives across its key portfolios and customer segments and assisting in the articulation of that strategy with senior leaders, executives, directors and regulators.

•You will provide thought leadership across teams including Risk, Products, Projects and Data to influence effective design and delivery of leading loan origination pathways.

Credit Risk

•In conjunction with the Senior Manager, Credit Strategy, you will design automated decisioning acquisition strategies and models to support existing and new products.

•Using robust credit risk management techniques you will ensure the credit risk models and tools are designed in line with our Model Risk framework including appropriate monitoring and review that drives continuous improvement. This will include monitoring outcomes and performance, application of quantitative techniques, professional credit risk judgement, engagement with internal senior stakeholders and external partners, forums and regulators.

•You will maintain and monitor the data and reporting for our credit risk tools and provide succinct summaries to the executive and credit committees. You will thrive for continuous improvement across credit risk models, tools and practices.

•You will leverage your colleagues in the Credit Risk team, supporting each other with insights and professional opinions to drive outcomes across credit oversight, policy and loan decisioning tools.

Reporting, Analysis and Insights

•You will develop and design regular reporting and analysis relating to application trends, new originations, and portfolio.

•You will design and deliver reporting and insights that helps ensure the Board is able to fulfil its obligations for oversight of the lending portfolios.

•You will support recurring and ad hoc quantitative analysis to ensure portfolio health is understood and to identify opportunities to better manage risk-return.

•You may be required to support ongoing management of the provision model, including reporting as well reviewing and validating the model remains fit for purpose.

•You may be required to conduct portfolio stress testing to further support credit insights and to contribute to enterprise stress testing and ICAAP.

Systems and partners

•You will have dual responsibility for the execution and risk management of credit risk strategy, including design, business requirements, test planning and execution, model governance, data requirements etc.

•You will work closely with technology platform owners and business owners to prioritise delivery of credit risk solutions into those platforms.

Partners and stakeholders

•You will work the Senior Manager, Credit Strategy, Product Managers, Data and Technology partners and the management of our key external risk partners including but not limited to mortgage insurance, credit bureaux, valuation and scorecard providers and validators.


Do things differently with us

To succeed in this role, you will have:


•5+ years' experience in credit risk management roles within Financial Services

•Strong understanding of commonly used credit tools and decision engines and how to create the best value through their use

•Proficient with data extraction, manipulation, and analysis (DataBricks and or SQL is essential).

•Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

•Familiarity with the Australian market, regulations (APRA, ASIC, AFCA)
