This role is for a senior individual contributor, not a people manager who will be the first dedicated technical hire at Shore Financial.
Shore Financial currently has no existing engineering team but there is scope to build on in the future as the implementation of Shore Financial's platform evolves.
The ideal candidate will need to be a hands-on engineer capable of planning and building out our platform.
The hire will be expected to work with the Shore Financial management team to prototype, scope and deliver against our existing technology roadmap, while working to evolve the roadmap as new requirements come to light.
The candidate should have skills in the following areas:
Technical
Standard Senior Engineer IC skillsets (git source control, SDLC pull request and branching strategies, production monitoring and alerting, audit logging, configuration compliance management).
AWS production experience (CDK/TypeScript, serverless, event-driven services, AWS CDK or other IAC frameworks)
Data engineering: built a warehouse or data lake with a layered architecture (bronze/silver/gold or equivalent)
Full Stack engineering skills for example: Python/TypeScript, SQL
API integration with multiple third-party systems (CRMs (Mortgage Broker CRMs is a plus but not expected to be common), document processing, BI tools)
Infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, production monitoring
Agentic AI patterns: RAG, tool use, multi-step reasoning, human-in-the-loop escalation
Experience working on products that have undergone compliance audits with standards like ISO 27001/9001 or SOC certifications.
Working Style
Self-directed: sets own priorities, breaks out deliverables,
Can communicate to non-technical colleagues a roadmap and progress plans.
Bonus would be experience as an engineer in a small growth stage company, so comfortable as the sole technical person.
Doesn't over-engineer technical solutions, we want to deliver value quickly and incrementally.
