Period of Appointment Appointment to the role is on a Permanent full time (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight). Duties Enter specimen label information into Herbarium databases, interpreting and verifying data and current nomenclature. Prepare specimens for incorporating into the Herbarium collection. Provide regular and timely reports on the collection to the Head of Herbarium and the Registration Officer. In collaboration with specialist Curators and the Registration Officer, contribute to the day-to-day care, maintenance and security of the collection and specialist facilities, including the laboratory facility and chemical storage. Support taxonomic research and specimen identification by managing the Herbarium laboratory, preparing solvents and reagents, and assisting with routine thin-layer chromatography. Contribute to Herbarium projects and activities including collecting expeditions and public engagement programmes. Assist the Volunteer Program by providing general guidance on collection curation.
