UGL's New Energy national business unit is experiencing rapid growth. We are seeking motivated and capable people to join our team. Our in-house engineering and design capability, together with our project delivery and operations and maintenance expertise, positions us well for opportunities in Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Wind, Hydrogen and Ammonia projects. We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team.
About the role
The Commercial Manager oversees all financial aspects of the project from start to finish, ensures compliance with the client contract, and aims to maximise project profitability.
Your duties and responsibilities
* During bids, provide regular, clear briefings and analyses of complex legal, technical, and commercial bid and contract issues for non-specialist audiences and executives.
* Provide governance oversight of client contracts to ensure compliance and maximise project profitability.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage project finances effectively.
* Develop and implement financial strategies to support project goals.
* Monitor and analyse project financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
* Negotiate key supply and works subcontracts and obtain internal approvals for any deviations from UGL standard terms in accordance with UGL Procurement Policy.
Your skills and experience
* Degree in Accounting or Law.
* Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in Renewable energy (Solar/BESS/Wind), Utilities, or EPC industries.
* Significant strategic commercial experience in a hard dollar or lump sum environment, preferably within large construction and engineering companies.
* Strong understanding of project finance and contract management.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
