Position: Dry Bulk (Products) Broker (Steel making Raw Materials/Metal Products)
Location: Perth, Western Australia, Australia
Annual Salary: Negotiable/commensurate with experience
Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by a global multi-asset brokerage with a strong reputation for innovation and connectivity across asset classes. As part of a concerted drive to enhance their physical brokerage offering, we are seeking the right individual to join in a physical dry bulk brokerage role, handling negotiations and relationships with mines/producers in Western Australia across key asset classes, to strengthen and expand upon the sourcing geographies of our clients physical brokerage business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead efforts to build new relationships with producers/mines and mining contacts to open new sourcing avenues/supply agreements across target asset classes (iron ore, manganese, chrome ore, sulphur, nickel etc.)
* Visit mines/mining offices to develop and solidify relationships with traders/sales personnel in Western Australia
* Act as the main point of contact for sourcing in the Australian market, working with international brokers/internal teams on delivering competitive procurement agreements
* Keep up to date with market movements, pricing and drivers to enable strong negotiations for sourcing across the steel making raw materials space, including manganese, chrome, nickel etc.
* Drive industry recognition of the brokerage brand/business in the region, being the main point of contact for Australian sourcing/mining relationship management
Key Skills & Experience
* 3+ years of experience in a broker/sales management or sourcing position in the Western Australian mining markets
* Good knowledge of key products/asset classes in the region (iron ore, manganese, chrome ore, sulphur, nickel etc.)
* Excellent communication skills with a sales driven mindset and high activity levels
* Knowledge of the Australian export markets/customers in the APAC region beneficial
* Proven experience in working with mining contacts in Western Australia
