We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP New Hall, a female prison and young offenders institution (YOI) in Flockton, West Yorkshire. This role offers a varied environment where you will gain experience across primary care, including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion and more. No two days are the same in this challenging yet rewarding and supportive environment. Please note that this is a clinical role and we need candidates competent in skills such as venepuncture, ECGs, NEWS2, etc.

Hours: This is a full‐time role, working 37.5 hours per week. We deliver healthcare 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, so shifts will include days and nights. You will typically work one week of nights per month (3 shifts in that week) and around 2 weekends per month.
Salary: This position is full time; you'll receive an annual salary of £25,557 - £29,723 per annum – depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
* Ensure continuity of care for all patients and deliver outstanding care at all times
* Carry out bloods, observations, ECGs, etc.
* Work across all areas of care, including inpatients, clinics, primary care, health promotion, and bloods
* Respond to emergency situations as needed
* Work holistically with patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates and pharmacy
* Deliver personalised, non‐judgemental care based on patient feedback
* Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics
Qualifications and experience
Hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
* Experience within a healthcare setting – hospital, community or secure environment
* Clinical experience such as bloods, observations, ECGs, etc.
* Experience in primary care or inpatients is a bonus.
* Non‐judgemental and compassionate approach.
