ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Supported Playgroup Facilitator to join our Supported Playgroups (SPG) team in Bendigo. This role focuses on early intervention, child development, and building parent confidence and capacity, particularly for families experiencing vulnerability.
Working alongside the Supported Playgroup Coordinator and another Facilitator, you will deliver high quality, developmentally appropriate supported playgroups for children aged 0?5 years and their parents/carers. You will also play an important role as a central intake point, supporting referrals and ensuring families are linked into the group or service that best meets their needs.
Playgroup sessions currently operate on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in White Hills, with programs designed to be responsive, inclusive and community focused.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate high quality supported playgroups in line with the practice manual and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF)
* Role model positive parent?child interactions and provide strengths based, trauma informed support
* Provide evidence based information and resources to families
* Support families to build skills, confidence and social connections
* Assist with referrals, outreach and transitions into community playgroups and early childhood services
* Build strong partnerships with local early childhood, health and family services
* Collect data, complete programme planning and contribute to reporting
* Participate in supervision, professional development and Communities of Practice
ABOUT YOU
You are a warm, reflective and skilled early years professional who is committed to improving outcomes for children and families. You will bring:
* Sound knowledge of early childhood development and early identification of developmental concerns
* Experience working respectfully and effectively with families experiencing vulnerability
* A trauma informed, attachment aware approach to practice
* A strong commitment to cultural safety, particularly when working with Aboriginal children and families
* Excellent communication, organisation and collaboration skills
* Experience working within quality frameworks and a commitment to continuous improvement
Qualifications & Requirements
* Early Childhood qualification (Diploma preferred) approved by ACECQA
* Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework
* Current First Aid (including CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis)
* Satisfactory Police Check and current Employee Working with Children Check
* Current driver?s licence
* Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
* Whooping Cough vaccination
