About the Role

The Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (HOPE) program is a short-term community based support service for consumers who have engaged in suicidal behaviour. Under the guidance of the Manager, Team Leader and Team Psychiatrist, the Senior Clinician (Nurse) will provide clinical support to both the team and consumers.

The multidisciplinary team provides a range of clinical and therapeutic interventions using a recovery-focused approach.

* Provide case management for up to 3 months linking into long term follow up services where appropriate.
* Perform comprehensive assessments including mental state assessment, risk assessment and safety planning for people experiencing suicidality.
* Utilise knowledge of suitable assessment and examination skills to recognise mental state deterioration and initiate/escalate treatment plan/s for management of same.
* Draw on nursing theory and frameworks to assess risk, communicating early warning signs to the multidisciplinary team and utilising appropriate interventions to mitigate risks.
* Work effectively with the multidisciplinary team including Lived Experience Workforce.

Classifications for this positions will range from Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4 NP75 - NP77 ($112,465 - $121,113 per annum pro rata)

Your Contribution

* Registration with AHPRA as a registered nurse and appropriate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, including post-graduate qualification relevant to mental health nursing or completion of specialist undergraduate mental health nursing program.
* Minimum 5 years experience in mental health nursing.
* A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
