Most farm jobs look the same. This one doesn't.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with livestock — particularly sheep — and wants to build real capability on a well-run, developing farm.
You'll work closely with an experienced Farm Manager in a small team where standards are high and good work is noticed.
About the Role
You'll be involved in:
* sheep handling and animal care
* pasture and irrigation management
* fencing, maintenance, and infrastructure
* machinery operation
This is not a "helper" role — you'll be trusted with responsibility and expected to take ownership.
Why This Role is Different
You won't just repeat the same tasks season after season.
You'll gain exposure across a diverse operation, including:
* composite ewe base and small feedlot
* modern sheep yards
* pivot irrigation and precision pasture equipment
The focus is on developing a well-rounded operator, not just a task-based worker.
Working dogs are encouraged if you have them or want to build your own team.
Training & Development
This is a role for someone who wants to get better quickly.
You'll receive hands-on training in livestock, machinery, and farm operations, along with support for relevant off-farm training.
What We're Looking For
You:
* enjoy working with sheep and livestock
* are reliable and take pride in your work
* communicate early and take responsibility
* want to learn and improve
The Reality
* early starts and long days at times
* physical work in all weather
* priorities shift with seasons and livestock
If you want a 9–5 job, this isn't it.
If you enjoy the lifestyle, you'll do well here.
What's Provided
* On-farm accommodation (self-contained cottage)
* Tools and equipment
* Stable, full-time role
* Strong learning environment
Location
Crofton Park – Barfold VIC
(15 mins from Kyneton / Heathcote) (1.5hr from Melbourne)
Apply
Send your resume and a short note outlining:
* your livestock experience
* any working dog experience (if applicable)
* why this role suits you
