Job Description

An exciting new opportunity awaits for a motivated Project Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment.

Reporting directly to the Technical and Project Support Manager, this full-time role is based in Wetherill Park. The role will involve supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical technology-based projects. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, estimating, engineering and project delivery to deliver high quality results, on time and within budget to our clients.

About the role:

As a Project Engineer, the role will be responsible for supporting project planning, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring technical and commercial outcomes are achieved.

* Working closely with sales, estimations, and pre-sales teams during client consultation and project handover to ensure alignment on scope, costs, lead times, and technical requirements
* Assisting in the development, review, and management of project scopes, budgets, schedules, and supporting documentation
* Acting as the technical liaison between clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project objectives, timelines, and margins are met
* Providing clear, timely project updates to clients and internal stakeholders, including progress, risks, and issues
* Preparing, reviewing, and managing technical documents, drawings, specifications, and reports
* Participating in site inspections and supporting on-site activities as required
* Ensuring all project delivery aligns with IPD policies, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety obligations
* Contributing to post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
* Supporting the ongoing development and enhancement of IPD's project management policies and processes


Desired Skills and Experience


About You:

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering is highly desirable but not essential.
* Minimum of three years' experience in a Project Engineering role within commercial and industrial environments.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems is essential, with demonstrated experience in busduct technology preferred.
* Proven experience working with Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes and related workflows.
* Hands‑on experience using Navisworks, Revizto, and CAD software.
* Solid understanding of project management principles, tools, and methodologies. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and CRM software.
* High‑level written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills.
* Willingness and ability to travel to client sites as required.
