Full time Chef required for the Ararat Hotel Cafe and Bistro, Ararat VIC.
The Ararat Cafe and Bistro is currently seeking a qualified full-time chef to join our team in Ararat. We are looking for someone who is creative, organised, passionate and experienced. The job description for a chef is as follows and it is not an exhaustive list:
-Menu planning, estimating food and labour costs.
-Preparing and cooking menu items.
-Training and supervision of apprentices and less experienced staff.
-Adhering to, explaining and enforcing of hygiene regulations.
-Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
-Delegation of tasks to other team members.
-Supervise Cooks and assist as needed.
-Monitor food stock and place orders.
Requirements:
-Qualifications in commercial cookery (Cert IV or higher)
-Minimum 1 year experience in the commercial kitchen
-Flexible availability
-Good communication skills
-Ability to work unsupervised and in a team
-Understanding of OH&S and food hygiene requirements
-Experienced in multi-cuisine.
