We are seeking an experienced Lead Solution Architect to join our growing National Security and Defence team in Canberra. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mainstream and emerging technologies, with an innovative approach to solving business problems. Broad experience across networking and software will contribute directly to securing our nation.
Please note that this role requires NV2 security clearance, with a preference for TSPV. Candidates with NV1 or NV2 willing to upgrade to NV2 or TSPV are encouraged to apply.
What You Will Do:
* Engage clients throughout the full solution lifecycle, from proposal to in-service realization, addressing their critical challenges
* Define and lead the development of solution architectures collaboratively with design team members
* Maintain overall ownership of solutions during delivery and transition to operation
* Ensure designs meet key functional and non-functional requirements
* Manage technical and solution risks, working to reduce and mitigate them early
* Represent the work of engineering teams to local and global engineering executives
* Lead early design and estimation efforts to understand potential costs and delivery timelines for business wins
* Leverage BAE Systems' experience, IP, and expertise to deliver solutions and transfer mature FVEY capability to Australia
What We Are Looking For:
A broad range of technical skills, knowledge, and leadership qualities:
* Experience across security domains
* Deep knowledge of cloud technologies, including complex application and data migration to Azure and AWS
* Solid understanding of Embedded Systems and Computer Systems Engineering, with a focus on Systems Integration
* Advising clients and teams during delivery on complex solutions
* Ability to lead, influence, and guide analysts, developers, and engineers
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Experience in contributing to tenders and pre-sales activities
* Experience with various delivery methodologies such as agile, lean, iterative, and waterfall
* Experience working with government systems and engaging with senior stakeholders
* Over 10 years of hands-on experience in networking, engineering, and/or software development, with at least 5 years in architecture or design
* Familiarity with architectural frameworks like TOGAF or Zachman and modeling
* Experience mentoring junior solution staff
