About the role

As Healthy Active Ageing Project Officer at Yarra Ranges Council, you will support the delivery of inclusive aged care services and contribute to national reform efforts. You will work with local providers to improve service quality, support workforce development, and help the sector prepare for changes under the new Aged Care Act and Support at Home program.

You will also support the Dementia-Inclusive Communities Project, which aims to reduce stigma, raise awareness, and promote wellbeing for people living with dementia and their carers. The role involves working across sectors to build partnerships, deliver training, and support community engagement to contribute to Council's Healthy and Active Ageing Plan and broader public health outcomes.

* This is a full-time temporary 12 month position (grant funded) (38 hours per week).
* This is a Band 6 role with a salary range between $95,565 and $104,167 per annum, plus superannuation.
* Support work-life balance with your choice of monthly or fortnightly rostered day off and hybrid working arrangements.

Experience and skills we're looking for

* Knowledge of aged care reforms, person-centred care, and dementia-inclusive practices.
* Experience supporting service quality improvement and sector transitions.
* Ability to interpret policy and develop practical tools and guidance.
* Experience in workforce development, training, and community engagement.
* Strong partnership-building skills across aged care, health, and community sectors.
