Role Description
This is an ongoing contract role for an Education Industry Staff Writer specialising in digital content. The role involves producing two original articles each week, to be published on the School News website and weekly newsletter. Responsibilities include researching industry trends, creating engaging articles, and ensuring all content aligns with brand guidelines and audience needs. The Staff Writer will also create social media content to support their articles. The position is fully remote, and applications are welcome from across Australia.
This is an excellent opportunity for a writer looking to expand their portfolio, in a flexible role with a supportive team.
Pay:
The Industry Reporter is paid $367.50 per week, for suppling and uploading to wordpress, two original articles for
School News
. Extra writing assignments for the print edition of
School News
may be available from time to time. These assignments will be paid separately.
Start date: January 27, 2026 (negotiable)
Qualifications
* Strong writing, web content creation, and storytelling skills to produce engaging and informative content.
* Research and analytical skills to gather data and insights on industry trends, and transform them into compelling articles.
* Editing and proofreading expertise, with a keen eye for detail and ability to ensure high-quality, polished content.
* Good understanding of the education industry, along with the ability to write for a professional audience.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* A degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field is preferred.
* Proficiency in content management systems (Wordpress) and familiarity with SEO best practices is a plus.
* Experience writing for a B2B or trade publication is also desirable.
