We are seeking an experienced Senior Barista to join our team. As a Senior Barista, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, leading barista responsibilities, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day operations, including opening and closing the café, inventory management, and supply ordering.
* Expertly prepare and serve a variety of beverages and food items, ensuring strict quality control standards.
* Maintain high-quality coffee bean preparation at all venues.
* Develop new and exciting coffee and non-coffee beverage offerings through team collaboration.
* Perform regular maintenance tasks and troubleshoot equipment issues.
* Provide expert advice on coffee selection, brewing techniques, and recommend complementary food items.
* Conduct comprehensive training sessions for team members.
* Welcome and engage customers with friendly conversation and personalized recommendations.
* Educate team members and customers about coffee characteristics, origins, and roasts.
* Promote and sell coffees and brewing equipment, effectively communicating unique attributes and benefits.
* Stay informed about industry trends and share knowledge with the team.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment adhering to organisation standards.
About You:
Professional Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Barista in a high-volume cafe.
* At least 1 year of experience as a Head/Lead Barista or Barista Trainer in a high-volume cafe.
* Strong knowledge of coffee beans, origins, and brewing techniques.
* Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
* A strong understanding of Food Health & Safety.
Nice to Have:
* Certification II or higher in Hospitality.
* Organic handling experience.
* Cafe or Restaurant Management experience.
* Food handling/Cookery experience.
Personal Requirements:
* Australian citizen or resident with an appropriate visa to work in Australia.
* Availability to work at least 1 weekend day every 2nd week.
* Availability to work shifts from 5am to 2:45pm weekdays and between hours 5am to 5pm on weekends.
* Loves coffee and tea.
* Own transport to and from work.
