We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Team Lead to join a well‑known, iconic brand. This role will see you leading a small payroll team of 5 while overseeing the delivery of accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll services in a high‑volume environment. The vibrant & modern office is based in the inner‑city suburbs in Richmond with flexibility to work 2‑3 days per week from home.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a small payroll team (5 direct reports), providing coaching, support, and regular performance feedback
* Oversee payroll operations for both Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legislation (approximately 8500 employees in total)
* Monitor and interpret awards, enterprise agreements, and leave entitlements
* Prepare and review payroll reports, reconciliations, and journal entries for month‑end and year‑end cycles
* Partner with internal stakeholders to identify efficiencies and streamline workflows
* Contribute to payroll‑related projects and system enhancements
About You
* Proven experience managing or supervising payroll in a large, multi‑site business
* Strong knowledge of payroll requirements, including award interpretation
* Skilled in payroll reporting, reconciliations, and problem‑solving
* Familiarity with large payroll systems
* Confident communicator with a collaborative, hands‑on leadership style
* Ability to work in a high volume, fast‑paced environment
