Opportunity at Fluor Australia: Construction Director - Construction & Fabrication
- Fluor Australia, a leader in the engineering and construction industry, is seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as the Construction Director for our Construction & Fabrication (C&F) operations. This role is pivotal in the fabrication, construction, commissioning, and execution of capital program services.
- This role is business critical, and you will be working closely with the Fluor executive team that is aligned and excited about the future for the business

**Basic Job Requirements**
- Key Responsibilities:
- Functional Leadership
- Lead the C&F team in Australia, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Office-Based Skills
- Contribute to constructability reviews, project planning activities, project schedules, and studies. Review and provide input on C&F methodologies, execution plans, and processes for proposals. Develop project staffing and mobilization plans.
- Site-Based Skills
- Provide guidance to projects on C&F requirements and conduct audits/governance of projects in execution.
- Business Development
- Work with Sales and other senior Fluor personnel to engage in business development activities to grow the Fluor business. Preparation of proposals and participating in commercial reviews
- Safety Leadership
- Promote a safety culture and employee ownership in accordance with our HSE management system.
**Other Job Requirements**
- Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree or equivalent technical project experience (essential)
- 15+ years of progressive and varied experience in construction, technical, and engineering activities
- Extensive experience in construction, fabrication, commissioning, and project engineering in an EPC or EPCM environment
- Experience in writing and reviewing Construction Execution Plans and the like
- Experience in construction, fabrication and commissioning input to major proposals
- Experience in managing a functional department
- Experience in mobilisation of new and brownfield project sites
- Experience in tendering and contract negotiation
- Financial management experience as related to a
contract environment
