Job Summary:
The Senior Occupational Health and Safety Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain awareness of and competency in good practice and contemporary, emerging practices in line with performing required occupational health and safety functions.
* Build and maintain relationships with safety practitioners, project managers, and contract administrators across the organization to achieve positive outcomes for the division and for clients.
* Support project administration teams in the application of Client-Side Safety Governance (CSSG) including review and analysis of project data and reports to support occupational health and safety assurance.
* Support timely and effective incident reporting and investigation by contractors and support the project teams in reviewing, understanding and monitoring improvement actions.
* Support the identification, planning, and delivery of occupational health and safety initiatives targeting improvements in project and industry capability and performance.
* Provide high-quality professional advice and support to frontline project and contract management staff, managers, and regional management teams on:
* The interpretation, understanding, and application of WHS legislations, Australian and international standards, certification, and accreditation criteria.
* The implementation of WHS policies, procedures, standards, guidance, and tools as they relate to the delivery of projects where the client is involved.
* The identification and effective management of contractor safety performance issues and opportunities, and
* The implementation of established contemporary good practice for client roles on construction projects.
