Hands-On, Heart-Driven Instruction
Bloodwood Tree is looking for a full-time Driving Instructor based in South Hedland, WA.
Reporting to the Driver Training Coordinator, you'll deliver practical, culturally sensitive driver training to new learner drivers, helping them gain the skills and confidence to drive safely and independently.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Instructing learner drivers for C & CA Class licences using dual-control vehicles
Assisting clients with pre-test practice and preparation
Conducting driving sessions across Port & South Hedland, and occasional outreach
Keeping accurate client records and session notes
Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness
Supporting outreach activities in towns like Tom Price and Newman
Participating in monthly supervision and team activities
The Right Person, Not Just the Right Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need:
A current C-Class Driver's Licence (held for at least 5 years)
National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
The ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening
Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
We'd also value:
Certificate IV in Transport & Logistics (Driving Instruction), OR
Completion of Department of Transport accredited instructor course
Experience working with Aboriginal communities
Confidence, patience, and a calm communication style
A supportive, respectful and culturally aware approach to training
If you're not yet qualified, Bloodwood Tree is open to supporting the right person under supervision as they work toward their instructor certification.
This is a role for someone who leads with patience, purpose and practical skill. Whether you're new to driver training or experienced, what matters most is your desire to help people achieve independence and mobility through confidence behind the wheel.

Enjoy a great salary + super, depending on experience and qualifications + $1.76 per hour zone allowance + $200 per week regional allowance
6 weeks of annual leave + 12 days personal leave
Return airfare reimbursement up to $600 per person (up to 4 family members) after 12 months
Work vehicle provided during work hours (dual control)
