 
        
        About us: The outer western region of our service includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait.
About your role:
Undertake and successfully complete the Australian Institute of Orthopaedic Technologies (AIOT) training modules, theory exams and practical assessments level 1-4 as provided by Queensland Health.
Under direct supervision of a Certificate 4 completed plaster technician and within traineeship scope conduct orthopaedic casting and appliance applications in consultation with and as requested by Medical Officers and the multi-disciplinary team.
Under direct supervision of a Certificate 4 completed plaster technician or Medical officer provide education and information on orthopaedic casting and appliances and their care to patients and/or carer/guardian.
